SUMMARY:Birding Hike in Whiting Road NP
DESCRIPTION:This preserve includes about 240 acres of land that is made up of a variety of birdhabitats\, resulting in decent bird lists throughout the year. The trails are well markedand maintained\, however\, they can get muddy at times\, so appropriate footwear isrecommended based on the weather leading up to the trip date. Most of the trails areflat\, but there will be a bit of up and down in some sections. Our trek will take us mainlyon the Blue and Black trails. Moderate difficulty in a few spots\, length about 2.5 miles. Norestrooms.

SUMMARY:Sept. 2025 Workday at Herman Road Forever Wild Forest
DESCRIPTION:Friends has been hard at work in Herman Road FWF\, and it shows! You can be part of the next improvements\, with lots to choose from. Projects for this workday include adding gravel to the Pink Trail boardwalk to ease the transition; moving gravel to the Orange Trail; benching (digging the trail into a hillside) on the Blue Trail; removing large downed trees on the new section of the Green Trail; and planting 15 trees near the parking area. Most of the projects require lifting.  \n\n\n\nWear sturdy shoes\, gloves\, and long pants/sleeves.  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: work gloves\, shovels\, tampers\, wheelbarrows\, garden metal-tine rakes\, square-end garden spades\, chain saws.
