It’s a funny thing about building trails: you aren’t just building trails.
Friends of Webster Trails brought together volunteers from the community, a Scout troop, and Trails ROC to make drainage improvements and remove a large down tree on the Midnight Connector Trail on Sunday, May 26. The muddy work was probably not at the top of anyone’s list for how to spend part of a holiday weekend, but the smiles made it clear that these folks were having a great time improving the trail experience for others on a vital link between Monroe County’s Webster Park and the Town’s nature preserves.
While working, Friends made some additional connections to repair a broken bridge and add more gravel to the trail.
We’d made connections on the Connector. Building more than just trails.
