More than 40 volunteers spent their Earth Day morning potting 125 seedlings and starting more than 150 seeds. The seedlings will spend the next 12 to 18 months in the ReTree Nursery as they grow large enough to be moved into Webster’s Open Spaces.
ReTree has been adding new native trees and shrubs to our Open Spaces for the last three years, building resilience in our forests where other native species have been lost or are under threat. New seedlings are added to the Nursery each year as larger saplings are moved from it and planted in our Open Spaces.
Join ReTree in October at our Planting Workday, and consider becoming a member of Friends of Webster Trails to further support our work.
