After a spring that sometimes brought three seasons in as many days, ReTree enjoyed a perfect morning on Sat., April 18 to plant trees and shrubs along the Hojack Trail.

Nearly 20 volunteers planted 31 native shrubs and small trees, adding screening for the trail and habitat for insects and birds.

These trees and shrubs were thanks to a generous donation from RG&E, bringing the total of new trees and shrubs close to 700.

ReTree will have another event on Sat. April 25 at the ReTree Nursery, potting seedlings to be nurtured until they are large enough to plant in forever homes in Webster’s preserves.
