In the graphic accompanying this article is a table with average visitor counts for the FWT trails indicated by acronyms of the trail names. The numbers are big! How about 50,000 visitor each year to the Gosnell Big Woods Preserve. Even the trails with much less use have thousands of visitors each year. These trails made and maintained by the FWT must be some of the most popular recreational resources in the Town.
These data were acquired over a period of 2 years using a trail counter purchased by FWT for the purpose of planning trail maintenance and grant applications. More detail regarding the counter and counts can be found in a report.
