ReTree: plants in the woods

for Webster. for Spring, for Earthday

In honor of Earth Day 2024, we moved 18 native trees from our nursery to their new homes in the woods at Whiting Road Nature Preserve. Forty (or so) volunteers included Cub Scouts and their parents, FWT members, Webster high school students and a group from L3Harris. These hearty souls hiked over a mile to deliver trees in their pots and all the equipment needed for the planting.

We planted the following native trees: paper birch, black gum, common hackberry, hickory, red mulberry and red maple.
