Trail Heroes at Work

FWT’s newest infrastructure is in Finn Park, thanks to the trail stewards

Trail Stewards are some of the hardest-working volunteers around Friends of Webster Trails. They are checking on the trails in all seasons, in all weather, and when they find something that needs fixing, or could be improved, they are on top of it. If there’s a tree down or trash that needs to be picked up, they are the unsung heroes who take care of it.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, four stewards were joined by the Trails Chairperson to do some of that improvement in Finn Park. Dennis Kuhn (FMCP) led the group, and Finn Stewards Becka and Bernie Bonn worked with Trails Chair Linda Siple and Matt Steiner (Hojack middle section) to build a puncheon to lift the trail over a muddy spot.

Their expertise and dedication made quick work of the project, and trail users can now keep their feet and wheels out of the mud.

Thanks to the heroes!
